Session Information:

The General Session will feature a strong lineup designed to provide valuable business and industry insights. Attendees will hear updates during the TRI Business Meeting with Brian Osborne, receive important Legal Updates from Scott Galt, and gain perspective on Supply Chain trends "Resilience, AI and Workforce Development: The Future of Supply Chain Management," from Kenneth K. Boyer, Ph.D. The program will also include a session focused on Marketing, "From Firebricks to Firepower: Rethinking B2B Marketing in the Age of AI," from Matt Schiering, providing practical insights and ideas to help companies strengthen their marketing efforts and reach new audiences.

Kenneth K. Boyer, Ph.D. - Bio

Dr. Ken Boyer is a professor of operations management. He came to Fisher in 2008 from Michigan State University, where he was a professor in the Department of Marketing and Supply Chain Management. From 2006-11, he was the co-editor in chief of theJournal of Operations Management, one of the five highest-ranking management journals in the field and the premiere scholarly journal for operations and supply chain management. He has memberships in the Academy of Management, Production and Operations Management Society and
the Decision Sciences Institute.

Dr. Boyer’s professional activities include serving in several leadership positions within DSI and the Academy of Management. He has published more
than 50 journal articles on health-care operations, e-commerce and technology management. His work has been cited more 12,000 times.

Dr. Boyer has given invited presentations in nine different countries and been quoted in several prominent periodicals, including the New York Times, Business 2.0 , the Chicago Tribune and USA Today. In addition he has written three books including The Electric Vehicle Revolution: Five Visionaries Leading the Charge. Early in his career, Dr. Boyer wrote the influential article “Approaches to the Factory of the Future. An Empirical Taxonomy”, Journal of Operations Management, 1996, Kenneth Boyer, Peter Ward, Keong Leong. He is actively working on a research project re-envisioning the factory of the future today.

Matt Schiering - Bio

Matt Schiering is a full-time Marketing Professor at Dominican University, located in New York’s Hudson Valley. He teaches courses including Content Creation, Global Marketing, and Entrepreneurship. Concurrently, he is principal and co-founder of Sheer Strategy®, a sales leadership and strategic management consulting firm. He has partnered with clients across leading Healthcare and Government sectors including Thermo-Fisher, Gojo, and the USDA. Before moving to Higher Ed., he spent over 25 years in corporate America. His top customers included Starbucks®, Chick-fil-A® & Publix®.

He holds a Bachelor’s from Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration and an M.B.A. from The University of Texas (El Paso). He is a U.S. Army veteran, having served at Fort Bliss from 1990 to 1994 after earning his ‘jump wings’ at Fort Benning.

He is the father of two adult children, Jared and Rayna, and has been married to his wife Maddy for almost 34 years. In his free time, he enjoys writing and fronting ‘Pop Rocks,’ a classic rock cover band.

Session Information:

General Session will start with engaging Roundtable Discussions, providing attendees with an opportunity to share ideas, experiences, and perspectives with fellow industry professionals (details to follow). In addition, Matt Boocks, from MINTEQ will lead a session on "Our Safety Journey and the Operational Excellence Tools We Used", offering practical insights and strategies to help companies improve processes, efficiency, and overall performance.

Matt Boocks - Bio

Matt Boocks is an experienced EHS professional with 18 years of experience in the safety industry and 19 years with Minteq International Inc. In his current role as Global Director of EHS, he leads safety strategies and continuous improvement efforts across Minteq’s global operations.

Current Role
As Global Director of EHS, Matt focuses on strengthening safety performance for Minteq field service personnel and manufacturing operations. His responsibilities also include managing the Operational Excellence program for Steel Mill Service, North America.

Minteq Experience
During his time with Minteq, Matt has concentrated on improving the safety approach of field service personnel starting in 2008. In 2014, he expanded his role to include Minteq Manufacturing, and in 2019 he was promoted to Global Director of EHS.

Military Service and Education
Before joining Minteq, Matt served in the United States Army for 20 years, retiring in 2006. After his retirement, he earned both a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in occupational health and safety from Columbia Southern University.
